Author Bio

Marcos E. González was raised in Laredo, Texas, and came to Austin to study film at the University of Texas. He never left.

He spent two decades in the film industry wearing nearly every hat available — PA, grip, art director, editor, director of photography — before landing in the camera department as a first AC, keeping people who are world-class at pretending to be someone else in focus. Commonly known as actors. He wrote and directed two features along the way.

He wrote the first draft of The Focus Puller during a five-month stay in Santa Fe, completing it in six weeks. He travels the American Southwest in his RV out of his home base in Austin, bikes when he isn't writing, and remains close to his siblings and his daughter

The Focus Puller is his first novel.
